Ecoprogetti Srl, a leading European designer and manufacturer of solar module production lines, has been selected to supply the advanced manufacturing technology for Ohio Sunshine’s new 2 GW solar panel manufacturing facility in Coshocton County.
The project marks a major milestone for Ecoprogetti’s expansion in the U.S. market and confirms the company’s role as a global reference in high-performance, fully automated PV manufacturing solutions in the American Market.
The new factory will support the economic progressing of the area with the creation of skilled local full-time jobs and contribute to the development of a robust, FEOC-free domestic solar supply chain, fully aligned with U.S. federal policies promoting fair, transparent, and local energy manufacturing.
Robert Black, CEO of Ohio Sunshine, commented on the broader significance of the initiative:
This project proves that the energy transition can also drive meaningful industrial revitalization,” said Robert Black. “Transforming a community historically tied to coal into a 2 GW solar manufacturing hub means creating skilled jobs, strengthening U.S. energy independence, and building a resilient, transparent domestic supply chain. Partnering with Ecoprogetti allows us to bring world-class manufacturing technology to Ohio and lay the foundation for long-term, sustainable industrial leadership.
Laura Sartore, CEO of Ecoprogetti, emphasized the role of advanced manufacturing technology in supporting this industrial transition:
We are proud to support Ohio Sunshine in building a new generation of solar manufacturing in the United States, especially converting old fossil-fuel extraction areas into Green Renewable Energy manufacturing hubs ” said Laura Sartore, “our latest technologies and fully automated production lines are designed to deliver the efficiency, reliability, and scalability required for large-scale domestic production. Projects like this show how advanced European automation and manufacturing intelligence can help accelerate the development of a strong and competitive U.S. solar industry.
European automation setting new U.S. benchmarks
At the core of the Coshocton facility will be Ecoprogetti’s latest-generation, fully automated production line, designed and engineered in Europe and optimized for next-generation module manufacturing. With more than 30 years of experience and over 50 GW of installed production capacity worldwide, Ecoprogetti delivers technology that combines precision engineering, industrial robustness, and long-term reliability.
The line integrates:
