STANDARD IS NO LONGER A DEFINED SIZE

The entry into the field of larger solar cells (166mm, 182mm, 210mm) was sudden and for many manufacturers of photovoltaic panels it is difficult to upgrade their production in such a short time.

Since half 2020 Ecoprogetti has been offering complete production lines ready to operate with solar cells up to wafer size M12 and consequently also compatible with wider and longer panels.

PV INDUSTRY ADJUSTMENT TO 166mm, 182mm, 210 mm SOLAR CELLS

For many producers this quick change is a challenge that must be tackled rapidly. As we have already seen happen with M2 cells at some point the price of solar cells will drive the change, forcing manufacturers to choose different solar cells (M10 and M12).

What will the new standard panel size be?

What we are seeing is a movement towards the full, half-cut and third-cut cell versions of the 166 mm and 182 mm. Best arranged with 9-10-11 BB to maximize the performance of the module.
For two years Ecoprogetti has invested in the adaptation of all the machines to wider sizes of panels (up to 2.3m x 1.4m) and to be flexible without additional costs. Now we can deliver complete turnkey solutions to assemble PV panels with solar cells from 166 mm to 210 mm (others on request) plus the half cell sizes in each case.

High-speed Stringer IS READY

New stringer machine 4000 cells/hour for full, half-cut solar cells, We have designed a new Stringer machine that will work with these new and bigger solar cells at a throughput of 4000 cells/hour. Depending on the client's needs the ETS 4000 can have an embedded laser cutter unit to cut in half the cells, this operation lowers the cycle time, improves space management and overall cost of production.

The Automatic Bussing is ready

The requests we have received are very clear: PV module producers want a reliable and easy to use soldering solution that can manage a big production line, they also need it to be highly dynamic even in a rapidly evolving market, where solar cells are restyled and resized continuously. Ecoprogetti Automatic Bussing is ready to work with half-cut cells and centralized panels with 3 junction boxes, with panel format up to 2.3m x 1.4m.

Renewed Production lines

Benefit from Ecoprogetti's renewed production machines and turnkey lines and start producing PV panels with bigger solar cells, manufacturing innovative PV panels with higher power density. The production lines have been renewed to fit panels matching sizes up to 2.3m x 1.4m, also 2.5m x1.4m is available as optional. These new production lines can run with a high degree of automation in all phases of the production line, allowing a safe, reliable and efficient assembly of PV panels.
